Floods in Pakistan – August 2011

  • As relief phase ended, United Nations, development partners and the National Disaster Management Authority constitute an Early Recovery Working Group to coordinate early recovery activities with a focus on 29 severely districts till December 2011.
  • 8 Sectoral and 4 cross-cutting thematic groups formed.
  • Based on prioritized needs of the most vulnerable, the funding gap for responding to these critical needs is US $ 413 million.
  • Displacement inside FATA’s Mohmand Agency continues, but the caseload has decreased significantly. About 2000 families continue to reside in a camp inside the agency.
